just installed the driver back rest with the little shock on it from harley on my 07 ultra, i bought it for comfort but realized theres more to it, it seems as if i have better control of the bike now, i think cuz more of my muscles are free'd up now since my weight is focused on the back rest.
Me thinks increased leverage and stability of your upper body muscles utilizing the backrest. Plus added comfort and confidence. Similar to bolsters in a sports car seat. Congrats!

Whats the part number for the backrest you bought? I am looking at a couple of different ones and don't think I came across that one.
I copped too. Kinda like glasses, no?
Mineis not the shocked one, but the manual adjust. The shocked one failed, so I returned it, and found the manual much less cumbersom to handle (on / off).
I also found that at it's lowest setting it was still a bit too high. So I bound the legs in a vice and cut out almost 1 inch, then got my welder buddy to re tig the end piece. Much better yet. still I use it at the lowest setting.
I agree it does improve the handling a lot too.
You can look the part up on line at harley.com. It's called a rider back rest.
the part no. is 52622-03a , man i really dig those rims you got im hoping some day in the future to get a set just like those they would look great on my ultra. maybee when my over time picks up i'll put a little moolah back and gitter done next year.
im sure that the mustang one is good quality but its 270 bucks, for 30 dollars more harley has a fully adjustable one and for 200 they have a standard one just like mustang. but thx for the response.
Here is alink to the one I got. Matches the stock seat, basic model, and can be had for under $200 at one of the discounters. Must have item; very comfortable and reasonably priced.
