Need help
Removed fairing on EG Std couple of times to install non-Marine Alpine deck with XM.
Now fairing does not tighten up at windshield. Water can get in and I even added some weatherstrip.
I think brass screw holders have come out of plastic inner fairing a bit.
Some water got into fairing when washing bike, now no sound.
Concerned for rest of electronics.
Check with your dealer. There is a part available that replaces the inserts that need to be glued with one that screws into the fairing. Tightening the screws actually tighten the insert more. This is the second bike I have owned with the bat wing fairing and I just keep a couple in the tool box at all times. They are only a couple of bucks.
get some 2 part epoxy.. pull the brass fitting out.. smear epoxy on bass fitting (outer area) and some inside of fairing hole. press in brass fitting with small clamp.
itll never come loose again. done many of these fixes. tighten all screws.. no problem.

RE: Loose Fairing
Common problem. Uve stripped ur mounts. EZ fixer. HD sells the brass couplings for front fairing (less than $5 for 3) that replace the OEM stuff. These are much better and designed 4 firm fitment into the fairing. Actually reseat into the plastic.
