there is a slam kit from road six customs (1-3 inches) available-and yes i have an 08
RKC-so the angle normally would affect the hard leather bag shock cutout but all you have to do is take a household blowdryer and heat up the plastic down bt the new angle of the shocks just enough to soften it up and push it in with palm of your hands and there you have it-i lowered mine 2 inches and have not bottomed out yet-havent noticed any difference in handling or cornering yet (put almost 500 miles on since the install)-am loving it ($55 delivered)-michael
I hear you! I too searched for quite a while trying find find a way to lower my RK Custom. We both have the same problem in that the plastic on the inside of our saddle bags wraps around the shocks. This , of course, means that most lowering kits that change the shock angle will not work on our bikes. I found a product that worked perfectly and was very easy to install. It is the lowering kit from TJ-Products.
It does not change the shock angle and was very easy to install. Installed mine in about 30 minutes. You can choose between the 1" or 1 1/2" drop.
Hey if it isn't too much trouble, could you take a quick-snap picture of how that TJ-Customs lowering bracket is mounted to your shock/swingarm and post it up on this thread? I'd sure appreciate it.. thanks!
