Default Security and camping

OK, I am going camping on my 07 ultra. All good, but I am lying in my tent with the bike close by - with the alarm deactivated and the ignition ready because the fob is still in range. Is there an answer to this?

Tie one end of a string to your big toe and the other end to your bike.

Brake lock, chain to a tree or metal post, load your gun, sleep with one eye open, the options are endless

Is this a trick question? If you have an alarm security system then use it and lock your ignition and forks. Even though the FOB is in range, once you turn off the ignition the alarm is activated. You lock the ignition so anyone can't deactivate it while the FOB is near.
Doesn't anyone read the manuals......raise foot stick in mouth..[sm=icon_rtfm.gif]

maybe you should follow your own advice. since the original poster has an 07 ultra, there is no activation, it is automatic. if he is near the bike and has the keyfob with him (like in his pants pocket) then it may be close enough to deactivate the system.

but he still could lock the ignition and forks, and add a disk lock to boot. all those items may not stop a determined thief, but if you're sleeping close by, then you'd have to sleep like a rock not to notice all that going on a few feet away.

If you have the fob in your pocket and someone starts the bike and rides, won't it die when it gets out of range? Just asking, I don't know anything about the newest security systems.
