Looking for luggage that willsit ontop of my luggage rack on my 08 Ultra. I want something that can be tied down without having to worry that it will come loose or scratch the paint.
I use the Dekker Supreme. It has 1" thick rigid foam panels that line the sides and bottom but which are removable for added space. It's a bit pricey but is an excellent bag. It fastens to the tourpak rack with adjustable straps so no bungy cords are needed.
I have this fits great, haven't used it yet on a trip, but it seems top notch. It's got GoldWing in the name, but doesn't say it on the bag. I think I found it on Amazon for just over a $100 with shipping.
I also have the Nelson Rigg GWR 1000 bag. Great bag, almost identical to the T-Bags Dekker Supreme but can be had for 1/2 the cost. Come with waterproof covers and attaches the the rack with snap on buckles in each corner. You want be dissapointed !!!
Just recently i bought a Kuryakyn Roll Bag #4142 and i am really impressed with the quality. It's the perfect size for the wife and i to throw in what we need for the hotel at night. I wanted to get some thing portable, lockable and easy to tie down. It's all that and more....it has 2 different styles of tie downs, a small lock to secure it to the rack and a rain cover. I couldn't find the d-rings on the side of the bag to strap it down....thought they were missing so i emailed the company. They told me they recently relocated them between the side pockets and the bag with velcro to stick the pocket and bag tight together to hide them when not in use. I commended the company on making a great product even better. We have done big rides every year and have learned to pack what is neccesary and used on a regular basis.....check this bag out if you can.
