throttle riding high?
i'm out on the new scoot and i've noticed that when i'm sitting at a light, it idles around 1500-2000 rpms. but i mistakenly rolled forward on the throttle in grabbing the brake and realized that it would throttle down further to around 1000 rpms giving it that slow, loping idle. Do i need to adjust it to the lower rpms? or will it do ok where it is? it seems a little high at 1500-2000, but i dont know for sure.
They do apparently idle a little fast, Strich. How many miles have you on the clock? Mine's up to 700 odd before that first service at the end of the week & mine varies at time still.

After warm up that's high.
My '07 RKC idles right around 1000. May need to adjust idle/throttle cables a little, and check map to see fuel sets at zero TP thru low rpms.

I have 400 miles on mine. When taking it for a 150 ride this weekend, it was idleing at 2000+ and this was the first I had noticed that. I could actually roll the back so that it was idleing at 1000. But as soon as I let it go, it was back up to 2000. After riding 100 miles or so, it went back to idleing at 1000 whenever I slowed. Not sure what caused it, but sounds like a similar situation. I'll keep you posted, idleing at 1000 as of today.
I've had the same problem with my '08 a few times now. I asked one of the guys in Service at the dealer yesterday about this problem. He said the problem is possibly caused by the RPMs not settling all the way down before the bike is turned off. So the computer reads that as what the RPMs should be when the bike starts. He said the way to fix it is to use both the kill switch and the ignition switch to turn off the bike. He said to turn on the bike, let the bike idle at whatever the lowest RPMs are that it will, then use the switch to kill the bike, and then turn off the ignition. He said repeat that 4 times and it should solve the problem. I haven't tried this yet since my '08 is in the shop now for its 1,000 mile service. If you try this, let me know how it works out. I'm curious. I also plan on askin' one of the other service guys when I pick up my bike, just to see if I get a different answer.
