I've always left mine on, sure are nice in them summer downpours. On my02 Ultra the engine ran about the same temp wise but the 07 FLTR I had it would get a little warm in traffic.
Now the 08 FLTR with the 110 mtr I'm thinking I may pull them off this year, it runs a little warmer and isn't all the way broke in.
Pulled mine off my Dyna yesterday afternoon - engine was running 225* in 75* temps. Will take another run at the same temps to see if it drops. 225 seems a little hot (reading was off the digitaloil tank temp guage).
