While I was out riding last Saturday, I noticed that my right passenger floorboard was loose. The fastener didn't appear to be loose and I coundn't get to an allen wrench on it since I have the Kury adjustable passenger pegs also installed. When I got home, I wiggled the floorboard and it fell off in my hand. The fastener was sheared off flush with the mount. I know that the passenger floorboards are different on the '07 but I not sure what changes were made. Regardless, it seems other people are having the same problem as noted in link below. The Kury pegs may add additional stress to this fastener but the floorboards will flex without them. I'm not sure if the fasteners are bad or if it's a poor design. I'd recommend changing the fastener every 5,000 miles just to be on the safe side.
Same thing happened to me except it was on the left side....I have the same setup as you described. The bike had less than 2000 miles on it at the time...

Any more problems since you changed out the fastener?
I've had the same thing happen to me, twice! Both times it was the right side. First time was around 7,000 miles while I was riding solo, in town, thankfully. Second time I was checking bike prior to a ride and found the floorboard loose, broken bolt again. Dealer fixed it under warranty and replaced scratched floorboard cover as well. Said bolt should be torqued to 30-35 lb-ft. I was afraid my Kury. Adj. Pegs might have caused additional stress, so I haven't put them back on, yet. My wife misses them, and hasn't complained too much, but we haven't taken any long (400+ mi.)trips without them yet either.

The passenger footboard hasn't changed since '92. A possibility for the fastener shearing may be due to being over torqued.

You can't use the Kury adjustable pegs for '06 and earlier on an '07 or an '08. Something has changed.
Has anyone found a good place to buy a replacement allen head bolt for them? Maybe something made of higher quailty metal? Between the HD adjustable brackets, chrome pans, and chrome rubber inserts my passenger floorboards are worth over $700....sure would hate to loose one of them.
