I need to get a lower windshield for my FLHTC. My belief is that I need a 10 inch windshield.. but question where and how the height of the shield is measured.
The stock windshield which I have now, measures 12 1/4 from the top to the point where the windshield enters the fairing. Measuring in the center, on the outside, starting at the top, it is 12 1/4" where the shield enters teh fairing. (I said that twice just to be clear.. and that probably still didn't work)
A 9 or 10 inch aftermarket replacement windshield is measured how? Will a 10 inch windshield be 2 1/4 " lower than the stock one? It should be, but it depends on where and how it's measured.
Most stock windsheilds are 12" measured as you did it, down the center to the top of the fairing. The question you want to ask yourself is "Do I want to look over or thru my windsheild?"
