Getting ready to spring for new exhaust as soon as GW's money comes in. I'm looking for the best balance of looks, sound and performance. Right now it is narrowed down to
Bub 7 2 into 1
Rinehart 2 into 1
V&H Pro Pipe BP 2 into 1
I know the V&H is not supposed to be the best performing, but it looks alot better. Can't beat the price either. The Rinehart I already know sounds good and from what I hear the 7's sound even better. Has anyone had a chance to compare the sound of the Pro Pipe BP to either or both the Rinehart or Bub 7??? Is it as low and thumpy as the Rinehart???
And no I am not considering the D&D. Had it on my 06 and did not like the sound one bit.
I have the V@H pro pipe and love it. The performance is AWESOME and the sound is great. Added 8hp to my bike. I have an 07 RKC with a 103 build and make 96hp and 103 torque. The bike just PULLS!!!! Of course the woods 575 lift cams help a little. IMO the build quality of the Vance and Hines is second to none. And i'm in the minority here, but I love the look too of a single pipe.
Ditto on the Road Rage! It has proven many times on the dyno to be the best performer, yes better than the Fat Cat. Andit has a wicked sound when wound up! Looks bada$$ too.
I have the ThunderHeader on my 2006 StreetBob and just installed the D&D FatCat on my 2000 FLH over the winter when I added my Andrews 26G Gear Drive Cams. For Performance, I guess it depends what RPM range you live in most of the time. I built the StreetBob to be a stop light to stop light bike, so the ThunderHeader runs well at 4000+ RPM as it has less back presure. the D&D Fatcat pulls hard between 2200 and 4000 which is where I ride my FLH mostly when on the longer rides. I agree with you, the sound of the D&D is a little weird, but IMO runs better at mid RPM.
I've read the Thunder header is great! But I like the looks of Vance & Hines...and I have had Vance & Hines....At least your on track to honestly making true horsepower with 2 into 1's Good Luck!
I know the 2 into 1 is the better performing set-up hands down!! I cant get past the look; I would have to stick with duals!! To me its a touring bike;my 2 pennies
