Hey Ya'll I'm picking up my new EGC later this week and its gonna be hot soon which helmet do I get. Keep in mind I don't have the ultra so gotta hear the radio and the bike is that new sunglo red color.
Also while I'm asking which pipes? Havn't made the decision on those yet, but will have to buy tomorrow.
Thanks to those in advance for your imput.
I have the sunglo two tone in the FLHRC. My helmets are black, but just picked up an HD half in Black Platinum... very comfortable and not bad in heat. The old saw will be do you want protection or looks. I have a full face for cold and nights, and 3/4 with a mic so I can talk to my wife when she rides with me. Mostly I use the HD 1/2.
I put bub7 TD with the Crossover on my bike and they are great pipes... great sound, not too loud but you can get them barking if you like. I like to tour, so the rumble is just right. Good luck with the bike! Ride safe.
When I bought mine, the dealer threw in some cash off on helmets.
We went with some modular full face HJC helmets. There great in the cold and rain.
Then we went out and bought 1/2 helmets for the nice weather.
got a harley half helmet for when I wanna wear one. I have stock front pipes with Python mufflers. You can still hear the radio but when ya want you can be heard
Most any DOT/SNELL approved helment will be the best, half helment for me personally, wife has a 1/2 helment with zip-on ear flaps.
As for pipes my choice are SuperTrapp SEs - lower/deeper tone only about 3db louder than stock, can still hear radio (good) wife (?) - interchangeable tips can change look to suit your personality.
Just my .02
