I have them on my RK Custom and can't wait to change them. The pull back is perfect but the angle sucks. It's like holding a wheel barrow while riding.
I've noticed that with the Road King Custom bars. The angle is really harsh. A lot of the other aftermarket beach bars don't seem to have that much of an angle on them.

I have the stock beach bars still onmy RK Customand I like them,I'm 5"11 and some what wide in the shoulders, and have taken 2 and 3000 mi trips with no problems. I will say this though, with the back rest on the bike I think this helps alot with fatigue in the arms and shoulders.

I have an 05 RK with White Bros. bikini beach bars and love them. I also run them on another bike as well, again I love them. They are very comfortable and have written thousand of miles/hours without fatigue or problem.

You may have to change out the risers on your RK and raise them an inch or so to be certain that they do not interfere with the turning ratio, or hitting the side of the tank. I did not make that modification and found it to work ok for me and give me a full turn without complication. Just try it first at stock height and see what you think.

They also look sweet, especially on a RK giving it that retro appearence. I bet you will get more compliments about your ride as well.

Keep in mind that going wider than stock will also move you forward, opening up your chest. Try to keep your knucked in some sort of forward position (like the stock bars). If you get bars that pull straight back (like the RK Custom) it feels like your ridinga wheelbarrow and not comprtable IMO. Try wild one! http://www.wild1inc.com/handlebars.html Many options and a stat page. I beleive the stock RK are 7" rise, 9" pullback, 32" wide. Or very close to that. Good luck.

Maybe so...but I'd much rather be holding on than pushing LOL

Here are my stock 04 RK Custom bars and I really like 'em...BTW...NOTHING like a wheelbarrow IMO

Do you live close enough to the beach to invest in new bars?
