Hey guys, i read on here about hogtune speakers so i checked it. Talked with a guy name Pez. He took my email address and will let me know when the are in for the 06 models. $99.00 a pair with 10% of for being a hd forum member. With shipping about $107.00 to the door. Will be out mid march. hogtunes.com 905-826-7098
Just wondering. I understand the Hog tunes are far superior to the past HD systems speakers, But are the Hogtunes going to be that far superior to the new 06 system. I don't honestly know how good Hogtunes sound, but my new 06 Ultra has a kick *** stereo system, IT ROCKS! It is much better sound and louder than my buddies 03. I would like to hear the comparison, when someone does the swap. Thanks, Gene
The new 2 ohm stock speakers are pretty impressive. I KNOW that the vendors for HD speakers have to contend with cost AND a weight spec, and I have to hand it to HK--they did a good job if your listening AT LOW VOLUME. It took several tries to get our 2 ohm speaker where we wanted it. Where our new model will shine is over 60 mph. The stockers just cant take it, and become difficult to hear. Were still on track for Mid March shipping....
Am I wrong in thinking that the better speaker would be the larger OHM number?
8 would be better than two and so on. Please enlighten me. I'm no stereo guru. I just turn on the radio and go.
Need to be a bit more specific on what you need to know about Ultrasound??? It will be shipping mid march. I have a new website coming and it will be very detailed in product info

The ohms thing can drive you nuts if you dont understand it. The 96-05 radios came with 8 ohm speakers. Think of 8 ohms as a 1/4 ton load. If the radio was a standard pick up, it would "haul" a 1/4 ton load properly, and be able to handle a heavier load within reason. Think of the 2 ohm speakers as a 5 ton load, and the new radio as a 5 ton truck. It can handle the heavier load without issue--it was designed for it.
What Im trying to get at is the Ohms represent a load, and the amp needs to be able to "move" that load, and when putting the system together, the designer takes this all into consideration. So to answer your question--Nope--the ohm rating really means nothing as far as making a speaker better. Having helped design home theater subs that are being sold all over North America, I know the last statement can come under some fire, but for the Motorcycle application, Im right . IMHO it makes NO sense for HD to have gone to a 2 ohm system when a 4 ohm system would be just fine.
You know what guys? Pez has the best product on the market!!! He also has the best service!! Man, he installed my speakers in his driveway, and I didn't even know him! He has worked in the speaker industry for years, and can run circles around anyone else out there.
There are lots of guys trying to knock him off the mound as king of the hill, but he is still king. IMO, don't bother with the pretenders, stick with the winner!!!!
