I need a little help here for those that have installed a Sirius Starmate Replay ST2 on their HD. I have a 07 Road Glide that I am looking for a mounting system for the Starmate. I have done a search and most of the replies that I have found are from 2006.
I was using Velcro to secure the Starmate above the iginition switch and Velcro for the antenna on the faring above the radio. Here lately the weather was hot causing the adhesive to soften and the Velcro moved. I am looking for a better solution.
I used double sided, waterproof foam tape for mounting the antenna on the inner side of the fairing.. dont' have to worry about it popping off if I hit a hard bump..
handlebar radio mount is actually one for an mp3 player on a bicycle.. withy a little tinkering.
I use the FM transmitter on my sirius unit since I have the HD MP3 player connected to the Aux in jack
I used the back plate mounting thing that came with the car or home mounting units and then found a visor clip from an old radar detector I had and mounted the visor clip to the backplate via small bolts. I then clip my Starmate Replay to the windshield pouch. When park the bike just unclip and put into the pouch out of sight.
Grunt66 - I bought this kit last week. You can get it on Amazon for $49 instead of $69 from TSS. The kit is nice, easy to install. The problem that I have is with the reception. I think the location of the antenna and/or the antenna sucks. I can't get the radio to get more than 3 bars out of 10 for the satellite signal so the signal keeps dropping. I am going to take the antenna off my car this week and try it to see if it gets better reception.
