Just picked up my bike from the dealer after the 1000 mile service. The only thing they advised me about was that they strongly recommend that I remove the foot board extenders. They are telling me that due to the extenders the tabs where the boards attach are going to bend and eventually break. I told them I would watch the tabs, but for now I am leaving them on the bike. Anyone else heard of or had any problems with the extenders?
Sorry, I dont have an answer for you...but, I'm just as curious too.
I just installed my T-Rex TDs and theright floorboard does not clear (nor does the leftpassenger peg when folded for that matter). I thought floorboard extenders would do the trick. Like to know the outcome of this first.
One of the first things I put on my 07 RG was the extenders. Needed that foot room. I have had the bike to the dealer for service three times now and nothing was said about the extenders. I have not noticed any bending or had any clearance problems.
Doesn't make any sense to me, [sm=confused06.gif]but I would be biased anyway. The footboards are just a platform for the riders foot to rest on while riding, therefore a riders full weight isn't bearing down on them. I have had mine on for over a year and haven't noticed any structural damage.
i've seen some old extenders that moved the floorboards out by spacing the floorboard bracket to boards vs spacing the floorboard brackets out at the frame(soos style). which ones you have?
