I've been contemplating putting Rinehart true duals on my 05 RKC for the past several months. Lately, I've been reading a lot about the Bub 7 true duals, and I'm really starting to lean that way. My question is, for you guys that have the Bubs, does the cross over make that much difference in performance? I like the look better without the crossover, but I'd like to get some opinions from those with first hand knowledge.
I have no first hand knowledge of the crossover version. But, the true duals absolutely rock for sound! I ride with a guy that has Rinehart true duals on his SE Road King. And he hates it because mine sound better than his!
You might want to check to see where you can get them. Buddy of mine tried to get them and was told there was a 4 to 6 month wait.
I just ordered the non crossover version from Eastern Performance last Thursday, tracking number says they will be here Tues. I don't know about the crossover version.
I spoke to BUB last friday about the same thing. I have Rinehart Slip-ons and the standard HD crossover header pipes. I want to do a Stage 1 and add Rinehart tru-dual headers, Ness Big Sucker and PC III.
Rinehart explained theTru-duals may sound louder but will have a power loss in lower RPMs. The Crossovers will have a perfromance gain more evenly distributed.
I started corresponding with BUB tech support via email and then a tech called me on my cell phone to follow-up. I found them to bevery helpful.I'm going with the Tru-Dual setup.
Tru Duals for me. Guys riding with me love the deep sound. I too talked to techs @ Bub & was told about the low end loss of torque ( not enough to really matter) unless you drag racing. The longer (hotter) they get the better they sound. Guys with me have all top name Rinehart , V&H , Cobras , Pythons , . Not so much better, but very good and different sound. LOVE 'EM !
