I found AMSOIL in my local PX up in here in the great state of AK, what weight can I run in all 3 holes? Thank you, and Happy Mothers Day (If it wasn't for Mom I wouldn't be asking this question right now) 08 FLHTC
I just changed to 20W-50 in the engine yesterday. Absolutely love the improvement, as measured by my butt dyno. The owner's manual says 10W-40 is what you want for excellent cold weather starts (< 4 C). Don't know your weather situation, but I'd start with the manual. Make sure the bottle says motorcycle oil. I learned yesterday there is Amsoil for cages and for motorcycles.
20W-50 is the one used in H-D motors, primary and also is fine for the transmission. Though in AK that may be an exception to the rule due to your temps... Depends whattemps you ride in.
I runAmsoil 20W-50year around here in So Cal.In winter my temps get down to 30 degrees or so at night. Don't know if you actually ride in lower temps than that, so if not the 20W-50 is probably fine in all 3 for you also.
20-50 amsoil in all three holes for me. My dealer did my 1K and 5K service with 20-50 syn 3 in all three, so I figure amsoil is only going to be better.
