Just saying that a lot of people are freaking out about the price of gas (justifyable in car or truck terms), but when you look at it in terms of only 5 or 6 gallons, you are only talking about a buck or two. It is not like filling up a Suburban.
On the other hand, I ride my bike between 30k and 35k a year. Over 2/3 of those miles are ONLY for fun.
At $3 a gallon that is only $1300 a year...no biggie, just over $100 a month for play
At $4 a gallon it is still only $1775 a year...still ok, just over $148 a month for play
At $8 a gallon it is $3550 a year...$300 a month for play
You know what! Before doing the math for this post I thought that if gas hit $8 a gallon I would cut back on my riding...
After doing this math, I would not change my riding one bit...I would still ride just as much and have just as much fun!!!
