OK now I know what you are talking about. I think they call it a spyder clamp. On the 08's like mine they have moved the ECM to under the seat and the fuelpak goes inside your left side cover and attaches to your fuse box.

ORIGINAL: ironhead3fan

Started at 7, cleaned up and typing by 7:30, except I am NOT done, and had to put it back together. Those two allen screws are in there tight. The first one came out, tight, but no problems. Then came the second one. It started to turn, then I felt it strip. The piece that holds the nut in place is plastic, and the nut stripped it out. [:@] Took that plastic piece off, no chance of getting it out without damaging it further. I guess it is off to the dealer tomorrow to order one of those pieces.

Other than that, everything looks very easy, and I should have been tuning the bike about now. This really sucks![:@] Not the worst thing to ever happen, not even close, just disappointing. I was anxious to get it on and working. Oh well...
Same thing happened to me...Just remove the bracket anddrill the head of the bolt off. Go to Home Depot and get a new one or three of different lengths and a nut or two in case you have to cut the bolt. Put the nut on before you cut it and the nut will chase the threads when you remove it. ...take the old one with you to get the right threads/length. I found one with the same size allen head. Take your time and dont use too much pressure on the drill as it will grab, a drill press will work better. Seems like I pressed the "nut" back in place with a vise, might have counter drilled the back and pressed it in from the other side, don't recall. I did not do it but you could put a dab of JB Weld on the sides of the "nut" to hold it in place. I @$$-u-me JB Weld will bond to the plastic bracket. I just knewI was gonna have to get a newbracket too. Was not really a big deal after I had a beer [sm=alcoholic.gif]and weighedmy options. Good luck!

******UPDATE******

Well, my electrical panel piece came in from Harley on Tuesday while I was out of town. I picked it up today. Had to cut the old electrical panel to get the nut out of it to get the vice grips to it and get the bolt out. All together, about an hour to finish the job, and that included cleanup and the test drive. The install was a piece of cake, and it does seem to run better, with a little more power. Have a fresh tank of gas in it, so I will see how it affects the gas mileage.
