Just moved up to '08 RK from '79 Shovel. Dealer delivered to the house about six weeks ago. Dying to get it out for a ride, looked on both sides, WHERE IS THE KICKER!
frog13:A 08 starts just the same asa 79. Have your wife/OL/girlfriend or what ever slithers out of the biker bar with you, push while you hold in the clutch, gather up a little speed and then suddenly release it. After a few blocks, go ahead and turn the iginition on and it will fire right up after 1 more try. Circle back around and let her get on. May I suggest you buy a manual, it spells all this out for you!
The kicker is just below the jiffy stand... but the compression release is really hard to find.
That's what is great about this forum, all this valuable advice. Now, let me get this straight. I put up the Jiffy stand, then lean over and look under there to pull out the kicker? Got it, except, mmmmm,MMMM,mmmmm,UGHHHH, OUCH!, MMmmmMMM. That's my muffled voice as my head is being crushed between the floorboard and my driveway.

Man, I used to do that! Last time I did though, ol' lady got hung up on the sissy bar and I didn't wanna stop and take a chance the bike would stall. She wore out a perfectly good pair of boots that night, but I haven't had to pay for her to get a pedicure since, so it sort of works out financially.
