Just got the audio hook up from the 550 on my bagger. Same mp3 loaded into the zumo as on the CD in the HK stereo and am surprised that the volume is almost half from the zumo. Anyone else experience that?
With the CD and bars at half volume on the stereo it's very loud, and playing the same mp3 from the zumo it takes almost all the bars to get the same volume. I checked and the output on the zumo for the music is at 100%
I should add that the yellow bars of the master volume are also all the way up - still the output of the zumo is about 1/2 that of a CD in the playing through the same system......
Mine is the opposite... zumo is louder. I was going to ask about the master volume, but you caught that in the second post, so he only thing I can think of is a bad audio cable...
Thanks - I was just out messing with it some more and it seems to be the connection at the zumo. When the plug is full into the output the volume is very low. As I pull it you can hear each channel make contact again at a low volume.
However - if I put the jack in just not even one click in and press up on it sideways, it makes contact with both channels at a normal level twice as loud as when the jack is all the way in.
Problem with the zumo itself? Same thing happens with 2 different and new cables.....
Thanks Gart - yep it's a stereo 3.5mm. and I tried 2 different ones just to make sure it wasn't a weird cable. It's as if the input jack in the cradle is goofed up or something..... I'm stumped!
There's 2 ways to control the volume on the Zumo. Go into the music screen and tap on the speaker, this is different than the master volume button on the left hand side of the unit, it will bring up a screen that gives you voice volume and music volume bars make sure from there that you have the music volume at 100%.
I had this same problem until I found out that there were 2 different volume controls.

If it's the jack in the cradle, call Garmin support. They'll ship you a new one.
I'm gonna take the car cradle and hook that up to the bike stereo - if it's normal volume then I'll know it's the bike cradle that's the culprit and get hold of Garmin
