Does anyone have a photo of how the RJS deflectors mount on the Ultra without the seat? I am interested in purchasing a pair. I don't doubt the fact that they are well made or that he is a stand up guy. None of that is at issue.
I have the adjustable back rest and would like to see how the set up looks without the seat on just to better understand how they mount on and how the access is to the adjuster. Thanks.
I don't have any with the seat off, but here's a few shots of my EGC with the adjustable backrest handle - you can see how much access there is to the handle. Hope this helps!
I don't have any pics, actually a couple weeks ago I was looking for the same thing....might be a good idea for RJ to add a couple pics to the web site with the seat off. The right side goes on pretty straight forward, but the left had me scratching my head a bit mostly because of the location where RJ pre-taped the velcro on the back of the shields....on the left side I saw no way of getting that part of the shield all the way into the frame rail without some serious bending. I actually left the back-most piece of velcro "unstuck" and put the seat on...just the process of putting the seat on must have bent the left side shield in to where it belonged.
By the way....even with the washer/spacers under the tank mounting (08s only) the seat is still a bit harder to get back on, but not too bad....I actually have to push down on the front part of the seat with one hand while sliding it forward with the other to get the seat to clip into the metal tongue.
The lever for the seat adjustment is still easy to reach, but like you said, some pictures with the seat off would have helped.
i could be wrong here but it sure seems these would rub the paint off the side covers, like i said i could be wrong, i would agree more pics would be nice.
They don't rub the side covers because they are made out of aluminum and are quite ridged, after you mount them you adjust them by bending them slightly to get a good fit.
I'm as **** as the next person and they work fine and I'm glad I got a set!!
Thanks guys for all the responses. I guess I'll just have to give it a shot and hope a dumb--- like me can put them on correctly. LOL. I sure don't want them scratching up the covers or getting in the way of the adjustable back rest lever. But, I guess you all have covered those issues.

Now for the 30 thousand dollar question, how much do they help the heat issues?
It's the cure. Obviously the motors still get way too hot but the RJ's keep the heat from burning your legs - one of the very best things I've done for my riding comfort.
