Just got a Ness big sucker that I ordered on ebay. I hope it is the right one. It is for my wifes 08 Street Glide. It's a #AN18-512.I took off the chrome cover and the filter and it looks like it is the right size. My question is, is there better install directions than what I got with it. The pictures on those don't look like what I have. Plus it is oil soaked and hard to read.Minehas two hoses on the back of the elementand that is as far as I went. If it was my bike I would just dig in, however, if I screw mine up I answer to me. I put onV&H Slip on Ovals, and am waithing for a fuelpak. Runs great just the way it is!
very easy install........ remove all of the factory crap, on the chrome piece stick the gasket to the back of the chrome piece where it would match up with the TB.
Insert the little rubber o rings into each side of the chrome piece.
Use the 2 biger bolts with the washers and screw that to the bike.
Then use the 3 smaller ones for the AC and put those on.
The the AC filter with the 3 screws
Then the stock cover goes back on with the factory bolt...
The an18-512 is the correct one. The directions should be pretty straight forward. (at least mine were ) you have to remove the hoses and the backing plate and replace it with the new back plate. the hoses are eliminated with the new one your installing.
As stated above. It's very easy, just make sure gaskets and o rings are in place and dont overtighten the vent bolts. It's a nice simple setup and harley should have thought of it.
