Default compensator bolt

Not only did they change the bolt to smaller for the 07+ (which I already knew), but I just noticed today that the bolts come with a blue lock patch on them from the MOCO. I'd a thunk that they would have a red lock patch on them, but that's just me.

Dawg, Harley's lock patch colors dont coincide with loctite colors. They do spec red for reinstallation on the comp and clutch hub nut!

I've also read that the bolt is too long or the washer is too thin. I know that mine will clatter when I pull off and don't get the rpms way up. The dealer has had to tighten it.

How ya know when the compensator nut is loose? I've got a chatter at 4000+ rpms and can't quite tell where it's at - other than on the left side of the engine. On the other hand, when the engine gets HOT, can rev above 4000+, seems to get to 5000+ before I hear the chatter.

Also wondering about the Feuling lifters I put in.

Generally you will hear a knocking on the primary as the bolt is banging up against the primary cover.
