I notice lately on my Street Glide I get a feeling of squirming on the road. Kind of link a snake moving on the ground for very short instances. Usually occurs at 55 or more and happens most of the time over rougher road surfaces. Tires are me880 which have been great and have about 8000 miles on them.
Now the only thing I am aware of is I do need to replace my rear tire and I plan to do so next week. My motor mounts are fine.
Any ideas out there. Feels like the start of a wobble, but can be sure. I do have a true-track as well.
You can run your hand over the surface of the tire and check for uneven wear or cupping on the rear tire. That many miles on a Metz and it is probably spent.
Sometimes even when you still have enough tread the tire can wear funny depending on riding style and air pressure and other factors.
Also, as the as Thundercloud said, too low of tire pressure can cause it to squirm like that. I think metz recommends higher pressures than Dunlop.
Yep, Check rear tire presssure and it was 38. 10 lower than normal. Last time the son checks it for me...that alone with a worm tire seems to be the problem. New tire next week when I get it in.
