Default J&M Speakers Anyone have them

Was looking into making some speaker changes but wasn't sure what to go with. I don't think I want to go with the hole Hogtunes and new amp and all that. Just trying to get some better sound with some new speakers. Wanted to know if anyone has or heard the J&M speakers on a SG. Any input would be great.

I have a post around here somewhere where I have no less than six different sets (J&M, Hog Tunes, Kenwood, Sony, etc.) of speakers in my bike. The J&M's were one of the better sets I have tried.

I have yet to run a set of Polks or Hawg Wired. I currently have a set of Titan's (Hertz) from Biketronics. They are a little more full sounding than the J&M's. The J&M's seem to be louder though (probably because of the lack of bass).

Only thing I know about the Hog Tunes is what I have read and its all been good.I will get a set of them later on.But my son did put a pair of J&M on his Roadglide and they were a big improvement. He like them did not have any complaints.

Put'em on my RG, no issues. I would recommend them to any of my friends.

Speakers are a lot like pipes -- as many opinions about the sound as there are users. And there are many threads on the forum about the comparisons of the J & M's, Hogtunes, Hawg Wired, etc... if you'll do a search.

My own personal experience is that the J & M's were just lounder than stock, though not as crisp and good at providing definitions in hi's, mid's and lows as the Hog Tunes which I am now running. I, too, wanted to avoid the investment of an aftermarket amp, so I just went with the 4 replacement speakers from Pez at Hogtunes. I love the set up, and it is more than enough for hearing over road noise and pipes.

For my money, it is Hogtunes...

I agree 100% & I've tried both brands. Both will sound better with an AMP driving them (that's true of any speaker), but the Hog Tunes sound the best without an AMP IMHO.

J&M's are a great cost effective upgrade for your Glide - have them on my Streeter. Nothing sounds great at 70+ mph.
If you don't wantto submit everyone within 1/4 mi to your ownpersonal taste in music try a set of custom made earplugs w/speaker drivers. No wind noise and just maybe the best sound you've ever heard. Beware. Some states frown on them although I know quite a few ridersthat use them anyway with no problems.Costs about the same as a HogTunes hipower amp. Any good electronics installer can wire it up.

That is what I currently run. Best bang for the buck hands down. I barely turn the volume up and the music is super clear with bass, something none of these 5 1/2" speakers have at higher volume. I believe I have $225 into my ear phones. I have the molds which is nice as all of the new blue tooth and wireless stuff developes.
