Get rid of them, I'd rather ride than fart around cleaning those damb things. I couldnt wait for mine to get worn down enough to justify getting a new set. When I first bought the bike I thought they were real cool, old school. After a month or so, PITA.

Wesleys on a rag was what I used, it did a good job.
Liquid dish soap and an old Scotchbrite dish sponge. Once a month sponge rims and scotchbrite WWW. 40 minutes for both front and back and abeer. Well worth the time for all three.
Orange Hand Cleaner and a nylon brushAlways leaves them shiney and white with out the possibilty of damaging the rims with the wesltleys - WILL NOT USE!!!
