Default Fatcats question.

I bought a Fatcat from an individual that came with the standard baffle muffler and the quiet baffle muffler. My question is how can you tell the difference? They both look the same and they dont have any numbers on them.
Thanks

The only way to tell by looking at them is to take the baffle out of the muffler and see which one has packing wrapped around it. Other then that, they look the same when installed in the muffler.

ahh!! I think the one I put on is the quiet version. It sounds like it may have some packing. It is not near as loud as the rineharts.

thanks

Yes it was a great deal.It sounds good and seems to have moved the "sweet spot" of the engine down to between 2800 - 3000 rpm from 3500-3800 with the rineharts.

Personally, I wanted to use the quiet baffle. When I leave the house at 0445 the wife and neighbors said they could hear me for quite a while. The fact that the quiet baffle fatcat seems to make as much torque/power as the standard is a plus.

The quiet baffle has actually been tested against the standard baffle.............and the quiet baffle produces better numbers.

And here I was hoping he'd say he liked the standard baffle better so that I could offer to buy his quiet one from him...[:'(]
