I am going to be installing the "new" Screamin Eagle Street Performance Slip on exhaust on my 2007 EGC. http://www.harley-davidson.com/gma/g...mLocale=en_USI know I will need to purchase "new" HD clamps to have when I install these slip ons. According to HD I will not need to do any other adjustments to my bike since these new SE pipes are not as free flowing as in years past. They are made to slip right on a stock bike and go. I was told the warranty will cover these pipes too since they are HD's. Anyway, has anyone installed these and found that there is a Right side slip on and a Left side slip on as it sound like the stock set up does have a more restricted pipe on the right side.
The factory left side exhaust is restricted compared to the factory right side exhaust.
The SE's do not have one restricted and one not restricted. They are equal as far as exhaust. You can tell which is the left or right. Around 95%+- of the exhaust exits from the right side because of the design of the 2 into effect they have. Thus the right muffler will wear more than the left side will. They will add some extra sound but by how much I have no idea.
The new Se slip on's have less restriction as compared to the factory muffler but not by much unless you go to true duals. I am not familiar with the 80677-08 slip on's. They are for the 08 bikes. I am using the 64985-07A mufflers. They are as loud as I want to get but I am using true duals. Changing only the mufflers should not effect the performance-may add a little but may not be noticable. My dealer told me in order to get any product-accessory-to be under the factory 2 year warranty it has to be purchased and installed within 30 days. They however-your dealer-has the opition to conceal by their choice when these accoessories were purchased and installed. In other words they can cover the problem.
hope this helps

There is a Left and a Right. But Harley does a good job of helping you get it right, the Screaming Eagle Logo goes to the outside. I love these pipes, BTW. Not too loud, but have a nice bark when you roll on a little throttle. And my friends I ride with are impressed with the sound. I am very happy with them.
As stated in another post, These 1 piece performance slip ons have the Screaming Eagle logo on the outside, cant really make a mistake. I really like these pipes and they have a great low note and really give a nice bark when the throttle is cracked.
Just a word of advise. You definatly want to use a new torgue clamp for them, and crank the daylights out of them. I found out the hard way after replacing my rear tire and tried to use the same clamp. Slipped back almost off the head pipe on me.

Did you do any other mods to make these pipes work with your bike? Fuel pack, air cleaner anything like that?
just looking for that HD sound that I feel is missing on my 07 EGC. I think the bike runs just great "stock". I'm not looking for performance gains but don't want any loss either
When I had these installed, I already had the SE Airkit, and Stage 1 Download. I had purchased the bike as a Dealership Demo and they had put on the SE Active performance Exhaust (Worthless piece of #$%^) it was . I have since added a PCIII, that was preset from fuelmoto. Seems to have increased the HP and torque, but I have taken a small hit in the fuel milege area. I was averaging 44-48mpg and now i,m more like 35-40mpg. All in all i,m happy with the set up. I definatly like the way the slip ons sound.
