Had 16s on my RK and traded it for an 06 ultra and put cyclesmith's 13s on it. Couldn't go high for look purposes, I am 6'3" and you can tell a little difference but it is not that bad between the 16s and 13s. Believe I will stay at 13 on ultra but if I get another RK it will be 16s.
Hardav23,
I love the look of ape hangers. I wondered about how they'd look on a Roadie. Yours rocks! I will be puttin em on mine now. Did you install yours? Do the cables come in specific lengths to match the height of the bars?
Thanks.
Joe
Thanks, not a lot of guys run them on RG's but I think they look good. I did put them on myself, they are chubby's 16", it is time consuming cutting, staggering and splicing in the wire extensions (26 wires with 2 cuts each to solder and heat shrink). I ended up going with a custom made brake line, +2 on the throttle cables and +4 on the clutch cable. I think those are the lengths, I just ended up taking home about 3 different sizes from the dealer and returned the ones I didn't use. Be sure to post pics when your done!!!
Yeah, everyone I was told said I needed thewiring extensions and then did one side. The other side I was missing 3 wires from the kit. Dumb. But turned out great.

I am running Custom Performance/Trask Meat Hooks and love them.
Got any pics of that 98 Classic with the CS 13's on it??
Do they actually measure 13' from the clamp??
I've been told different shops measure them differently.
I've seen allot of newer baggers with apes pics in the forums but nothin from the mid EVO era...
I ride a 94 Ultra Classic and I'm trying to decide between 14's and 16's.
I'm 6'3" 250lbs...
The best deal i've found is the HCC everything included kit.
Any and all input is appreciated!!

Don't have any pics of a 98 with apes, but your right about the way shops measure the apes. I now have a 2010 EGC with HCC apes. They call them 14", but they measure 16" from clamp to top bend. I loveum. I think I paid around 450 for the bars, clutch, and one brake line. I have ABS. I also ask for Drag Specialty line and cable, I didn't want Motion Pro. (they suck)
