Default A different 18" and 21" bagger wheel question

If I were to go 18/21, have read that it will raise the front of the bike.

I have a Wheel Dock EZ-up centerstand that I need to be able to use to store the bike in with all the other toys, and my guess is that if the bike is an inch taller it wont work, and I hate to buy another centerstand, this one is just too perfect

The question is, can I buy a pair of tires in 18's front and rearor an 18/21 combo that is the same height as the stock 16s?

Thanks in advance

What exactly would cause it not to work? Is it the fender height or the actual wheel. You can lower the front end or chande the front fender to a hugger type fender. There are options you best betis to provide measurements of the height you need and see what others have done for fender and wheel options and just as for a single measurement. You other option is to go with a 18"/18' and either lower the front end or get a bad dad lowered fender. This is my plan for a 18" with a lowered front fender. It looks as good as a 21" fillingthe fender wise. Explore all your options there are some good looking alternitives to a 21" with a stock fender.

you've confused the last poster...

roll your bike's front tire up on a 2x6 board [lying flat...]and see if the centerstand still works. that's a good approximation of how high the 21" will raise your bike's front end.

Thanks Kurt, you are with me, good idea

07blackcherry - With the EZ-up ride off centerstand, both tires stay on the ground. Even the suspension height difference from a SG to a EG requires a different centerstand.

If I raise the bike due to a taller tire, the centerstand could (exaggeration for effect) not touch the ground when I try to use it.

Kurts test makes sense. I'll see, if not I'll go 18 inch rims with a tire with the same overall height as the 16 incher on there now

It is even possible that the EG centerstand would work, its for a bike that sits a little taller. Once I get some data I'll call the guys at EZ-up and see if I can buy parts to convert it (if needed)
