Another reason is looks. You could say the same thing about doing motor work on an Ultra.... Why do that when the batwing will give you more wind resistance - and if you strip off the bags and trunk, and reduce weight, it will go faster - big deal. If it's a drag bike, suck every single HP you can out of it, and reduce all possible weight.....

If it is a bike you enjoy riding - set up how you want it to look, feel, and give some extra boost - maybe not all the boost possible - but enough to ride and enjoy it..... Same reason I threw on a dummy pipe - to me, two saddle bags need two pipes.... That's what I love about HD - possibilities are endless to accommodate everyone's taste....

Of course there are always those people who think they know best for everyone else's bike....

Where's the link to the S&S? cuz I call bs. (not in a bad way man) but a stage 1 96" wont even be in the 90's for torque much less hit 100...

you def have more than a stage 1....

I have a stage 1 103 and see my numbers in my sig... a stage 1 96 should be a little LESS than that... I am leaving a little on the table with the true duals, but not much.

Just had my bike dyno'd...

2013 Road Glide

-SE 259e cam
-SE 10.5.1 Piston
-SE Springs
-RSD high flow
-Freedom Performance Outlaw True Duals
-SE Race Tuner

My numbers were:

95hp
105tq

Conclusion:

The bike runs super smooth with great pull...However I was disappointed that I did not get at least 100hp and 110tq...

I know the dyno is really bragging rights but i really wanted that 100/100 club.

Nonetheless my bike pulls like a bat out of hell all the way through each gear. What more can you ask for really.

^^ your RG sounds awesome.

My bike runs fantastic, but I'm 2nd owner and just want a realistic baseline to know where I'm at. I'm just trying to make sure I understand all this dyno stuff and the measured output. I agree that the numbers my bike put out sure seem high, until I saw the S&S book...then I was like well....maybe? My local HD dealers have that book, so I'm sure most HD dealers will have it as well.

Here is my Dyno numbers from my 2014 Ultra Limited 103 with 1500 miles and the following mods:

57H Andrews cams
SE Air Cleaner
V&H Power duals
RC 4" Slip-ons

Very happy with the overall performance and yet good solid pull off the bottom.
