I don't have the HD one. I have the Clearview and the tint is pretty light and it is fine at night. I look over it but I could look through it with no discernible loss of visibility.
The reason I like to stick with the clear is that it (almost) disappears into the background and gives you the un-shielded look even when the shield is on. Of course when I squint, my wife also looks a bit like Jennifer Aniston, so I am half blind I guess.
