When I first got my bike, a 2006 EGC, my HK unit would return to the function it was on before shutting off the bike. If it was on CD when the ignition was turned to off, it would return to CD when started again. I did a software update over the winter, and now it seems to be random as to what it is on when the bikes starts up again. Is there a setting in there I can get to?
Also, I have a Hogtunes amp and speakers, and with an MP3 CD playing the stereo rocks. But with an AUX device, it is substatially quieter, even when I put the input device on the max output volume. Anyone have anyinsight into if there is a setting I can get to?
Maybe I need another software patch, not sure where to get it from.
Unless you push the round black button to turn the radio totally OFF when you turn the bike off it will return the function you had it in prior to turning the ignition off.
Bottom line is that they are a piece of junk, in my opinion. I have the latest software version updates, and it is so random its not funny. I did recently get some Hogtunes, and they are nice. Very good sound, but the radio sucks.
I have fonud that if I leave it on the CD when i shut the bike off, often it will turn back on on either WB or FM. The reason in my mind why this is the case, is that the unit boots faster then the CD spins up, so it doesn't think there is a CD in the unit, and goes to the next available input.

I'm sure it's SUPPOSED to work that way, but mine has been "random" lately too.
When using AUX, make sure the volume on the device you're using is turned up, probably all the way to max (although, sometimes, when your MP3 volume is on max, it will tend to distort some ... you may have to back it off a little). In other words, remember, you have TWO volume controls to contend with ...
