Earlier Post Up-date!
Last week posted about a high speed sweeping turn front wheel wabble and squirrely feeling during normal riding. All the great responses made me look at a lot of things thatI may not have noticed before: like lose spokes, had a few; rear swing arm bolts, one lose; motor mounts, one a little lose; shocks, one rear leaking (Gerrr). All this adjusted and the bike still felt squirrely. All along I knew the rear tire was close to needing replaced but not even close to bald. Because ofscheduling I waited to replace thetireuntil I check all the above. Well yesterday was able to get the new rear tire on and wouldn't you know it, itis back to normal, feels great. What a HUGH differencea worn tire can make. I have ran tire down tires before but do not remember the bike freaking out like it did this time. Now I have other issues to deal with in new posts comingso stand by to help me out in them as well...I love this forum (in a manly way)!!!
When I put the new Michelin Commander on mine I could not believe the difference it made. My issue wasn't because the tire was worn either because it felt wobbly when the tire only had 5k on it. Me thinks it the Dunlops.
I got stuck with putting the same as the old tire d402 only because it was the only one the indy had instock that would fit and I'm going on a road trip this weekend: and I was pretty happy with the original d402's anyway (just was thinking about something different to try) and did not want to have a mixed set. The next set I will probably switch both out to the Elite 3's. At my rate of riding will be in 6 months.
