I have an 06 road king, and i am not very comfortable on it, i am 6'5 and 300 and change lbs.
my backhurts me after about 10-15 minutes of riding, my rigid chopper never hurt my back this much!
i have the WCC ftw floorboards and they are HUGE and i can move my feet around comfortably and thats not the problem. i am ordering new ape hangers 18" from carlini soon, and i think thatmight make it a little better, but i think its the seat. what is everyone who's tall runnign for a seat?
I'm running the Tallboy seat on my '07 RKC. It is different than the Tallboy for an '08, so be careful there. The seat I have is great for me. I am 6'2" and about 235#. My height is mainly in my legs and I found the Tallboy to be a great addition. It basically moved me back about a half inch and up about one and a half inches. This worked for me as any further back and I would have needed different handle bars. The cushioning on the Tallboy feels better to me also and I have done several 300 mile days without any numbness. Hope this helps.
The right handlebars andseat is key. Add to that a backrest and you will be good. If your butt hurts, add in a bead cover (may be ugly but you sit on it, who is going to see it?) or at least a sheep skin cover. Cools your hind side off too.
My back and shoulders hurt me, changed bars and that alone made my back stop hurting. Now I can ride 1.5hours without even thinking abouta back rest. Rode 2 hours straight last weekend with no stops for the first time in my life! The key is finding out if it really is your back or does your back hurt because you're reaching too much for your bars? I am 6'1" 310.
I too have the Tallboy seat. I'm 6'3, 36" inseam and 260lbs. As far as the positioning goes, the seat is perfect for me. But my *** really starts to hurt after about 200 miles. Other's have suggested a gel pad or a cover, but I'm going to bite the bullet and order a Corbin.
