First of all, hello, this is my first post as I have just bought my first harley. It is a vivid black 08 road king classic with ABS and chrome wheels. Not my first bike, but my first harley.
I havn't even seen it yet as I am in iraq and won't be home for leave for another few weeks.
Anyways, I have been looking up random goodies for the bike and i noticed that a lot of places don't specify if it will or will not fit a road king classic. Is it a good assumption that parts that fit a road king will fit a classic? For example exhaust systems? Thanks
Josh, there are more parts that will fit a road king than you can shake a stick at! What you are going to have to look for is that "IF" they will fit your "08"
The 08's have the latest greatest technology in the throttle systems, meaning no more cables. Throttle by wire. The exhaust systems you need to be looking for are the ones that fit model year 2007 and up because they noe have oxygen sensors in the head pipes where the earlier models did not.
Don't worry, when you pick it up you will definatley be supplied a great big catalog of "Harley Bling" that you will be drooling over for weeks. Sit back, read some threads on here, use the search feature (it's a great tool) and CONGRATS on your new Harley!
THANK YOU FOR YOUR SERVICE!! keep your head low and we will see you state side.

Lot's of great exhaust, seat, chrome, etc.... just make sure as above that it specifies 08. Early on I bought some stuff from the dealer and had to return it because it was up to 07 not 08 (the dealer didn't catch it either). At any rate enjoy and thank you for serving. God bless you!
Usually they will fit. If not you will more than likely see something like "(except FLHRC)" and whatever else it won't fit. Keep your head down shipmate, and come home safe. Thank you for your service.
