Default rough 08' road king?

Do any of you guys think your 08' is running rough? It seamed to start when I got off the interstate, now I think it runs rough every now and then. Got 5500 hard miles, I like speed, any ideas?

By the way love the 08', had a 06' roadkingand like the new roadking better.

ps hate to go to the stealer for anything, don't have a good one in my town anyway!

Could be the heat management system kicking in. Mine will do that after 50-60 miles at freeway speeds. Come off the freeway, and the idle drops to 750 for a moment, then works it way up to 1000 rpm. As soon as you come off idle the bike pulls just fine. Or maybe the ECM is sensing and can't make up its mind. I don't know. Seems to be a characteristic of the 96"

No issues, but only 2400 miles. If and when you find out, please let us know.

You may be right on the heat management system kicking in, it's deffinetly a idle issue. I'll look into that, thanks

you have a fuel system upgrade (sert, fuelpak)? Those leaned out motors can have drivability issues. My 06 runs a lot better and cooler ( and a bit stronger)since I added the fuel pakand richened it up. Those 96"ers are just too lean stock

Stock motor but thinking about a fuel pac and stage one air cleaner, the bike does run hotter than the 06' roading I had.

seawolfhd - did you buy your SG after December 2007? if so, it has the EITMS fixed so you can disable it yourself without taking it to the dealer. do a search on this forum for instructions how to.
