tranny flush
I remember the old shovelhead service manual telling you to flush the engine oil bag with kerosene to remove any settiment and sludge but don't recall it telling you to flush the tranny, I wouldn't think the tranny would have enough sludge to warrant a kerosene flush, would probably be very hard to remove all of the kersosene and would not get to high enough temp to evaporate it all without thinning the gear oil.
Kerosene could possibly damage the seals. When I get a used bike, I drain the old fluid, fill it with cheapest 20W50 motor oil and drive it for a couple of miles and then immediately drain it overnight. Then fill it with, in my case, Redline heavy shockproof.
Best wishes,
John
