At first I liked the copper/black combo. Now, not so much. Glad I bought red. You need to decide if you'll be happy in 2 years with that color combo? If yes, Buy it. If not get the black.

Nobike...never let resale guide your choice...BUT...big but there too...as with even a car you don't want to lose on the back end of the sale. DO you have money to put down? Even our scoots lose value over time...not as much as cars that depreciate 20% as soon as you drive it off the lot. Do you have money to put down? This way you lessen your payments and usually your APR.

As far as color...Dude...it's your ride...your choice...Buy what trips your trigger...EVERYONE HAS BLACK! Be different! IF you like the copper top...someone else will too! As for the dealer for the 1K off and to throw in the alarm too...if they can't sell it...they sure will throw it in! NOW...ABS is a factory install...so the dealer can't do that for ya...But I love the ABS on My SG! The cruise control is great on the highway. I'm sure alot of our purist bretheran shudder on this...but you have less issues with loss of feeling in your hand and wrists.

But once again...your ride...your choice...But what you're gonna be proud of riding!

Mike

Try to beat the dealer up on price for the 105th bike. Sales have been slow and they may go lower. Either way, a Street Glide w/ ABSis MUCH better then a Fatbob. When I park my sg next to a fatbob, the fatbobs look very small.

Man, stop overthinking this thing. If you like it, buy it...I love my 'Duracell'. Other wise, buy a black one and paint it whatever color you want. But get the SG, you won't be disappointed.

Mike covered much of the ground here so I'll address him.

Yes, I am thinking about putting 15K down on the bike. Tempted just to pay the bike (or whatever I get) off when I buy it but I have other pending issues at home I may want to keep the spare cash for and just double up on payments when possible. Still, payments won't be an issue.

Perhaps. Woodstock Harley (NY) doesn't have the best reputation as being a deal maker but... I've never dealt with them on a one to one basis. Only what I've heard. I may go there on Tuesday (they're closed today) and talk turkey and have them give me their best out the door price on both and see what they say.

I'd have to agree with ya on this and if on the bike, I'd prefer to have it but not a deal breaker if not. The black bike supposively has ABS. Not sure about the Duracell bike.

Ya know. I felt kinda small sitting on a FB. I'm 6'3" / 225lbs and this is a big concern for me. Does seem as if the SG has more bang for the buck but... cost more $$$ also.

Thanks again for your comments!

Yes, I think after the price shock, I will be happier in the long run and perhaps save the pain of trading up down the road. One concern I do have is with the following statement...

The sixth gear is great while on the highways. The only problem is the lack of power over 60 mph. You will find yourself shifting to a lower gear to find an acceptable acceleration rate. This engine was built to be upgraded. I am not sure how many stock Harley’s are out there, but I highly recommend upgrading the horse power for better performance. Source:
Is this true? With all the positive, I guess every bike does have some negatives.
