As you probably already know, the kit itself costs $1200, so they're charging you $2800 in labor and that's assuming you're not getting any discount on the kit. That's ridiculously excessive. Ask them exactly how many hours of labor they're planning on charging you? Even at $100 per hour, that's 280 hours of labor! Of course, you'll have fluids and probably a few gaskets to buy, but that isn't going to add up to much to offset their crazy labor charge.
I took the jugs off and had them bored on my 08, had the heads done at a local shop close to here, added 255 cams and the piston kit.........I dont think I have $1100 in it...........But I furnished my labor..........my dealer told me 8 hrs labor start to finish......
I purchased mine when I bought my bike and as I recall off the top of my head, I paid about 1100 bucks total (pistons, cams, new jugs, installed, and dyno) - that was with a serious discount offered by my dealer. It was too good of an offer to pass up.
