I am looking to add a stereo or MP3 player to my bike. Harley sells one with a stereo included for $1700 (sounds steep) and I have found a few detachable ones online. Anyone had any luck with a faring that might have some pictures and costs associated?
I've got more than that in my Quadzilla after upgrades and having it painted locally. The upgrades were chrome and stereo upgrade. Here's a crappy pic of it.
Saving my pennies for a Dragonfly. http://www.dragonflycycleconcepts.com/links.htmThey're expensive but after a lot of research, I think I like their design the best. Loaded out with the options I want they're around $2500.00. Sounds steep but it's a lot cheaper than the bath I'd take on a trade-in.

Hey Bucky how about a link. I haven't seenthe Harley detachable fairing yet. Still weighing my options as to which weigh I want to go.
Didn't take it as being "blown off" I've pretty much seen all the after market ones but by his post it sounded like Harley came out with their own detachable and wanted to look at that one. I'm sure if they did it would be VERY pricy.

Edit: of course it just dawned on me that you might not have been responding to my post and just hit reply on the last one like I always do.
Do you want the fairing or is that the only way you think you can add a radio? I want a fairing and the radio, but the radio for my 2hr round trip to work was more important, and I don't have the funds like I used too (F'ing gas prices) so I did this. Crazy Biker's Radio
Sorry don't mean to hijack the thread but wanted to ask Superglide04 about that radio setup. I have been looking at one of those as well. Really don't want to spend $1500+ for a full stereo fairing, but would love some tunes for the longer rides. Specifically how does it sound at speed and how does it mount to the bike? I have one of the Bob Dron fairings and the horizontalshield mounts are in the same location as a stock RK windshield, but the vertical ones are mounted in different positions.
To the original poster; Have seen several full stereo detachable fairings come through the shop. So far the ones I have liked the best have been from deadcenter.
I was about to pull the trigger on a fairing last summer. I ended up getting one of these mp3 players and running my windshield. http://www.iriver.com/product/p_detail.asp?pidx=80
I'm very happy with the results. The player is worn like a necklace and can be tucked under your shirt. I think it was about $70 for the player.
