Your bike and your well being are more important than their stupid antics. These are the same type of idiots that will rear end you or cause you to hit them. Most of the time if something is said to these idiots they act up even worse.
A fall in a group more than likely involved a few riders, be safe!!!
Peel off and go your way.

I would have bailed immediately. Guys like that have no business in a big group. If they want to kill themselves, that's fine but I would never put my life at risk for a couple of bozos like that. You should have been mad as hell they screwed up your ride. Too bad stupid isn't painful.

I'd definitely leave the group.... I rode with a group once and a couple guys start acting like azzes, so the entire group pulled over and the leader threw thoseguys out of the group "on the spot"........AND HE WAS FATHER OF TWO OF THE IDIOTS!!!!!!!!

I don't do group rides. Reports like this serve to remind me why!

I don't blame you one bit,I'd have left immediately, had a few words to say to the group organizers and the riders themselves. You can bet I'd never ride with this group again, I'm all for a good time but there is no place on a bike for stupidity.

there's always a couple a-holes in the "open for public" rides, charity events etc.

love the ones that start and end at a bar..

It's good to see I wasn't think unreasonably. Just a little more info on the ride itself. It's a yearly tour which benefits the childrens hospital I work for. I would say there is really no organization to the actual ride itself. Riders come in, register then leave whenever they want, following the route sheet given to them. This particular route was all two lane roads which made passing these two idiots very difficult, given our unfortunate position.Luckily, we only ended up following them for about 20 miles or so before we got to the end of the route. Still, that 20 miles was a very precarious one.
