Overloaded? Update!!
\\;Went to Atlanta this weekend to see Daughter and Grandchildren, Had a great ride up and back, and of course a great time there! Anyway as I pulled into My driveway I was enjoying the music ,so I turned the Ign. Sw. to Acc, Backed bike into it's parking spot turned the Sw off and it stayed on Acc! \\; Pulled max fuse,,,Big mistake alarm goes off!! reset it and then put bike in My shop to further investigate,, Found and pulled plug off the siren,,,Big mistake!! Very loud,, reset again take it apart and remove it's battery, Happened to Notice the Siren system was installed backwards(the siren was mounted toward the bikes battery, not faceing outward!) Explains why it was never very loud! \\; \\; Noticed Wierd smell coming from Ignition Switch So I took it to My local H.Dealer! They looked at it and agread the switch was smoking! Of course I have put lots of Harley light's on the bike so They think I may have overloaded the Switch!
To be continued!
Just got bike back ,,new switch installed, Warrenty covered everything. Not even a mention about lights!
My dealership does great again,, Thanks Big Swamp!! Opelika, Alabama!

RE: Overloaded?
to keep from running amps so much thru the ign switch, you might consider mounting the harley 3 switch unit on the handlebar.. let it control 3 relays.
hardwire from the battery to the feed leg of the relay for the higher current draws (glow rails, lights).. that way the current load going thru the ign switch is only enough current to engage the relay.. I did this with my heated seat and high power driving lights..
