Default IED Question

i am about to pull the plug on a pair of Night Rider IED AFR enrichers and I want to do this right.&nbsp\\; I have a stock 08 EGC and am primarily interested in lowering the engine temp.&nbsp\\; I may add an air breather and slip on mufflers later.&nbsp\\; I am semi retired and do a lot of long trips so I don't want to destroy my gas mileage.&nbsp\\; Should I go with the XIED 13.8:1 AFR or the 02 IED 14.2:1 AFR.&nbsp\\; Reading the install it looks fairly simple.&nbsp\\; Is that true.&nbsp\\; Thanks for your help.&nbsp\\;

I went with XIED's on my 08 EGC. Plug and Play install, 5 minutes. You may need to remove oil filler cap to get at rear connectors. I haven't done mileage check yet. Stayed with stock AC and exhaust. It now runs too good to mess with. If you want to really feel/hear the difference, run for a while with the XIED's and then take them off. The steady cruising and low-end response is where it is most apparent. The sound at 3k rpm is totally different.

I installed those on my 2007 RKC along with my custom housing to received a K&amp\\;N filter and with Python slip on's.&nbsp\\; I rode to Winchester VA last week end I got 48mpg that's doing 65-70mph.&nbsp\\; Yes the install is VERY easy.&nbsp\\; Simpley un-plug the leads from the O2 sensors and plug the XIED's in.&nbsp\\; What will take place is the XIED's will be between the O2 sensor and the original harness.&nbsp\\; They even fold up easy so you can tie them down&nbsp\\;the same location the&nbsp\\;stock harness was tied down on.&nbsp\\; Can't even tell they are installed.

Put a set of the 14.2's on my 07 Roadking along with a set of Rinehart slip-ons,left the A/C stock.Mileage is about the same as without the IED's but runs alot cooler and alot more reponsive.Best 69 bucks I have ever spent.

Hello-&nbsp\\; I put mine on yesterday.&nbsp\\; It really does take 5 minutes or less.&nbsp\\; I haven't test ridden yet, but I was amazed when i cranked it by how smooth the idle was.&nbsp\\; I don't know why that is, but it was noticeably smoother.&nbsp\\; The mirrors hardly vibrate.&nbsp\\; Exhaust smells more like old car exhaust now, too.
&nbsp\\;
Test ride coming up within the hour.&nbsp\\; It will be interesting to see what the mpgs are.

08 Ultra with the Xied installed. very easy, seems to have cooled things off
&nbsp\\;
Now I am thinking and maybe someone here will know
&nbsp\\;
I would like to add the FulSac exhaust system
&nbsp\\;
Currently I just have V&amp\\;H Oval slip ons and NO Stage One and NO mapping
&nbsp\\;
I&nbsp\\;just want the look of the true duals and was hopeing to take away some more heat

Install is super easy. Have had both xied and ied on stock SERK cooler and more responsive with both 3-4 mpg less with the xied. Recently put on heavy breather and pipes and I am now getting a decel pop, not too bad but it is making me mess with stuff...just pulled the ieds last night will do normal commute today and check things out....also want to go back to the ieds rather than xieds and see what happens. *** Most importantly temps went down with both!
