I have a 08 Ultra w/V&H FuelPak,Tru Duals,JET air cleaner,& have tried both IEDs/XIEDs.With the fuelpak on the bike & IEDs it gets 40-42mpg..I lost 5-6mpg with the Xs.Steve at Nightrider said to try em w/o the FuelPak on even if I add a small cam with around 20 degrees overlap.Have not tried that yet.I will say both are a inexpensive way to add fuel & cool the bike down. Both work, the Xs do make a deeper note.Regards,Tom
I have a set of 14.2 to 1 IED for sale if anyone is interested (replaced with the 13.8 due to aftermarket pipes) Used them for 3 weeks.

I put the IED's on stock 08 EGC 2 weeks ago with no issues.
There is a bit of throttle response and the heat does seem to be less.

It's kind of crazy that a voltage divider circuit can do this.
I'm currently running the IED's on my '08 RG with Ovals, SE a/c and Stg1 download and liking it a lot. I've got the X's on order just for the hell of it (what's another hunnerd bucks?) and am looking forward to seeing what the difference will be.
Install is easy IF your rear O2 sensor connector plug ain't jammed under the starter like mine was. Took some serious fiddleing and cursing to get the little booger out of there. Otherwise it's just plug and play.
I replaced my fairing mounted air temp gauge with a Roger McEwen oil temp gauge and made some notes on my temperatures under different conditions. Then I ordered and installed a set of the IED's at 13.8 AFR and did some riding. The first thing I noticed was improved throttle response and the exhaust pipes right by my thighs seemed not so hot. Oil temperatures did not change, the highest oil temps I saw before the IED's are the same as now. I see the highest oil temps when cruisin' down the freeway at 80-85 mph. The exhaust gases might be cooler but the oil temp still rises to the 230-235 mark. Next on the list is a 7 row Harley oil cooler to cover the high speed rise in oil temps. I don't do much sittin' in heavy traffic, just not my sort of ride. I will run the interstates and backroads and somebody else can have the big city red lights and heavy traffic.
