ABS hell yea! I have a 08 EGC and they gave me a 8 min DVD on the ABS. It it amazing the diff. with and without. You have to be verticle however (not in a lean or else no help) however in water or a emergency a must have. Not long ago I had a gold wing and they came out with ABS \\; and airbag. I thought it was just a gimmick and something to make people want to but one. Very ignorant thinking that was. ABS will no doubt be standard on bikes very soon. IMO
Picked up my SG yesterday with ABS. They have 3 others in stock. One which replaced mine. 2 of the 3 have ABS. So, they ('08) are out there. Evidently, this varies widely between dealers and locales.
I'm sure if you look at some of the other dealers on your own, without going through the dealer that you have in mind, you can find exactly what you want. IMO.
The ABS \\;is well worth the wait. When a car pulled out ahead of me, I was able to panic stop and avoid an accident. \\;All my future bikes will have ABS.
I was not going to pay extra for ABS, hell my last bike didn't even have a front brake. \\; Dealer is a friend of my wife and I and really insisted on it. \\; He turned out to be a darn good friend. \\; Less then a week into owning this bike I had to lock them up HARD and was sure I would go down, but the ABS kept the back end in line and kept the front end from tucking under. \\; Anyone who tells you that you don't need them has never used them.
As to not being able to find a bike, start calling around, they are out there you just might have to drive a little to find what you want.

I have a new FLHRC with ABS, only about 300 miles on the clock but I've been thankful for the ABS twice already. Definitely stop in less space and with a heavy bike that's important.
