CA's a big place with many dealers not all of which want to help each other out.&nbsp\\; Look around, you'll find what you want.&nbsp\\; I did and got an '08 w/ABS.&nbsp\\;

Ride NOW &amp\\; sod the ABS. I've managed 30 years without needing it. If you go down the 'what if...' line, you'd never get out of bed...
&nbsp\\;
More folk get hurt playing sport than riding bikes. Just do it &amp\\; trade up later if you're the paranoid sort.

Start with - The decision is yours.
&nbsp\\;
Since you asked for an opinion, this is how i made up my mind.
&nbsp\\;
Questions
Will I ever ride with anyone else on my bike?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; YES
Do I care about the person riding with me?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; YES
Will ABS add any type of protection in a Panic Stop?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; YES
Is a one time cost of $750 worth the possible reduction in injuries to me and a loved one?&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\;&nbsp\\; YES
&nbsp\\;
Decision was easy, waited an extra 45 days, very HAPPY!

I wouldn't waste two months of riding time waiting on something I "might" need.&nbsp\\; Not saying it's not a nice option to have, but I haven't had it in the past so I don't know what I'm missing, ignorance is bliss so they say.

Nice thing about ABS is you don't have to think about it when you&nbsp\\;get "busy"...no locking and releasing the front brake.....no keeping the rear locked once you are there.
&nbsp\\;
I've had the rear pulsing a couple of times ...nice not to have to fight 800 lbs of&nbsp\\;steel &nbsp\\;when you are trying to avoid that car

&nbsp\\;
Of course I do, if not I would have died long ago.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; But there is no reading or anticipating for the idiot who realizes that she has missed her left turn, cuts across three lanes of traffic, and slams on her brake in front of you.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; This happened to me a week after I picked up my new Ultra.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; Without ABS I would have hit her or dumped it, plain and simple.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; The city I live in has three of the busiest highways in America.&nbsp\\;\\\\\\; It is a pucker up experiance most of the time you ride them, and ABS is just one more tool to keep me and my passengers safe, there is no shame and it does not reduce your macho quotient to be smart.
&nbsp\\;
Best regards,
Harry
