how much are dealers getting to put them on?, i looked at the instructions / posts on putting it on and i think i'd rather spend my time riding than trying to make sense of those instructions&nbsp\\;

Do it on a crappy day that you wouldn't ride anyway. (or when the in-laws are visiting)

I have installed the detachable docking station twice....FIRST and LAST!! I took my last bike to the dealer and had them install the kit! Never looked back, well worth it to me.

I just did it... took about 3 rum and cokes, and 90 minutes. I would do a search on here for this topic as there's a post with a link to a pdf file that another member made up, thats a LOT easier to follow.

Here's a couple hints from an 08 SG install:

Mock up the bracket / docking support / bolts first.. to get an idea how it fits up.

On the washer that goes on the front support (near the shock top) trim about 1/16 of inch off one round edge, so it matches the cut in the support piece (this will make sense when you are sitting there with the pieces in your hand). Trust me on this, its a b*tch to get that bolt on there when the washer is butting up against the shock (or at least it was for me). Trimmed the edge of the washer, and bam! went right on.
