I went to my dealer last week to see about adding cruise control to my 08 EGC. They ordered the unit and said it will be here Thursday \\;and service would \\;install it for me. I go talk to the service guys \\;and they said bring the bike in anytime and we'll put it on for two hours or about $138.00. That seemed OK with me so the unit comes in on Thursday, I take the bike in and they tell me they might get to it on next week, it's first come first served and there's about a dozen bikes ahead of me.
 \\;
I decided to keep the bike to ride it over the week-end. I \\;got my manual out and opened the instructions with the cruise kit. Saturday morning it was raining and I poured myself a tall \\;coffee and \\;took the kit and my manual to the barn. An hour later \\;I poured out most of the now cold coffee and finished tightening \\;the screws in my fairing.
 \\;
It was incredibly easy and the best part is (unlike the instructions) \\;you don't need to take out the ignition, you can just loosen the right \\;side of the cover and unscrew the  \\;switch bracket from the bottom \\;and add the new switch. Today I took my bike back to the dealer today and they "Enabled" the cruise unit for $36 which included a test ride. \\;
 \\;
Ride well,

RE: Cruise control - So Easy A Caveman Could Do It!
Glad to hear! I am thinking about getting the cruise or the Zumo. I have the chrome switch housing so I will have to get another set for the new cruise switch.
RE: Cruise control - So Easy A Caveman Could Do It!
Actually, I got a Zumo from PC Nation ( $638 + $11.90 overnight shipping) and installed it at the same time. I soldiered it into the wires on the back of the cigarette lighter.

Ride well,

Jim, does the cruise control consist of only a console swicth and a right hand control? \\; Can you confirm that there is no left hand control for the 08 cruise control? Thanks
RE: Cruise control - So Easy A Caveman Could Do It!
Thats awesome!
Good for you.
I have that same thing sitting in the garage.
However, I have the chrome brake, clutch, switch housings to install as well.
So Im thinking....I hate to bleed brakes[:'(]
May have the dealer do it.
